USBC WDMI - Ordering Court Transcripts

"Upon the request of any party to any proceeding which has been so
recorded who has agreed to pay the fee therefore, or of a judge of the
court, the reporter or other individual designated to produce the record
shall promptly transcribe the original records of the requested parts of
the proceedings and attach to the transcript his official certificate,
and deliver the same to the party or judge making the request." (28
U.S.C. § 753(b))
The Western District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court employs two methods of
recording proceedings: court reporters and electronic sound recording.
Below are instructions for obtaining transcripts.
You will need to complete the
Transcript Request Form - Fillable and e-mail it to whoever recorded the
proceeding--either Gail Beach (Certified Court Reporter) or Linda Lane
(coordinator for digital court recordings). Please Note:
Pursuant to BR 8006, if you are requesting a transcript for purposes of
appeal, you must also file the request for transcript on the court's
electronic case docket.
If at any time you have questions concerning obtaining a transcript, or
are unsure of who the court reporter was, please contact the Clerk's
Office at (616) 456-2693.
Court Reporter - Gail Beach
If Gail Beach was the court reporter used to record the proceeding,
complete the Transcript Request Form below and e-mail it to her at the
below address. All financial arrangements should be made directly with

Electronic Sound Recording
If electronic sound recording was used to record the proceeding,
complete the Transcript Request Form below and e-mail it to Linda Lane
at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to order the transcript. Upon the receipt
of the order, the transcription service used by the court will contact
you to make financial arrangements. Below is the contact information for
