(28 U.S.C. § 753(b))

The Western District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court employs two methods of recording proceedings: court reporters and electronic sound recording. Below are instructions for obtaining transcripts.  Please Note:  Pursuant to BR 8006, if you are requesting a transcript for purposes of appeal, you must also file the request for transcript on the court's electronic case docket.

Court Reporter - Gail Beach
If Gail Beach was the court reporter used to record the proceeding, complete a Transcript Request Form (fillable) and e-mail to her.  All financial arrangements should be made directly with Gail Beach (telephone: (616) 813-5510).

Electronic Sound Recording
If electronic sound recording was used to record the proceeding, complete a Transcript Request Form (fillable) to order the transcript. . Parties with an ECF account should electronically file the request form through CM/ECF on the related case docket using the event ‘Request for Transcript’.  Parties without an ECF account may either hand-deliver, mail or e-mail the form to the Court.  Upon the receipt of the order, the transcription service used by the court will contact you to make financial arrangements.

Realtime Transcripts: At it's September, 2011 session, the Judicial Conference amended the maximum realtime transcript rate policy to eliminate the requirement that a litigant who orders realtime services be required to purchase a certified transcript of the same pages. (Litigants may order a certified transcript, but they are not required to do so) This new policy goes into effect January 1, 2012

If at any time you have questions concerning obtaining a transcript, please contact the Clerk's Office at (616) 456-2693.
